LICENSED OPTICIAN / CUSTOMER SUPPORT ASSOCIATE

Location Scarborough, Ontario

Hours Full time. Flexible hours. 36 to 40 hours/week

Salary $65k to $75k

All Optician Licensing Fees and Insurance

Benefits available after 3 months.

OPTIK K&R Inc. is a long standing privately held independent, Canadian corporation that manufactures, imports and distributes eye care products. One of its core strategies is to offer the ophthalmic community a complete range of ophthalmic products and services. Primary clients are Eye-Care Professionals (ECP) across Canada such as opticians, optometrists, ophthalmologists and M.D.’s.

Some of the products provided by Optik K&R are: contact lenses, eyeglass lenses, frames and accessories. Both stock and custom lenses are available through Optik K&R. Custom contact lenses (both rigid and soft) are manufactured on site. In addition, eyeglass lenses are manufactured on a made-to-order basis.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 3 years as a Licensed Optician in Ontario
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Driver’s license

JOB DESCRIPTION

This position you will be primarily assisting with telephone calls from customers (ECPs) requiring product information or fitting expertise. Training will be provided. In addition, it will occasionally be necessary to dispense safety eyewear in our safety eyewear showroom.

SKILLS

  • General contact lens fitting problem solving
  • RGP and Scleral lens fitting
  • Frame adjustments
  • Empathic, professional and pleasant telephone demeanor

CUSTOMER SERVICE & ADMINISTRATIVE (80%)

  • Solving customer problems - product consultation regarding lens selection and fitting
  • Addressing requests for Pricing, Catalogs, & Marketing Materials.
  • Answering question regarding Policies, billing, and product specifications
  • Work with Sales Reps to satisfy customers needs
  • Order taking
  • Effectively addressing customer complaints
  • Other administrative duties.

OPHTHALMIC DISPENSING (20%)

  • Assist with both dispensing in show room
  • Mentor student opticians
  • Provide on-site fitting as needed (Safety Eyewear)
