JOB SUMMARY :

Dispensing opticians are front-line workers prepared to meet the public's needs in terms of information on the choice of optimal solutions in terms of oculo-visual products, services and referrals to other vision professionals. The optician applies the prescription given by the optometrist and takes the necessary measures to manufacture the glasses. He/She is also able to perform certain professional acts in contact lenses, such as taking measurements and fitting contact lenses. The dispensing optician works closely with the optometrist to provide professional and complete service to our customers.

  • Ensure the reception of all customers in a courteous and professional manner both on the phone and on site;
  • Assist the customer in his approach to visiting our store/clinic;
  • Evaluate and identify the client's needs regarding the choice of frames and ophthalmic lenses according to their prescription;
  • Determines specifications for eyeglasses or lenses either from a prescription issued by a professional or by analyzing a customer's eyeglasses or lenses and measuring the curvature of the eyes, the distance between the pupils and the width of the face using optical instruments;
  • Inform the customer about the different options, products, promotions available to him in order to help him in his decision-making process;
  • Executes the cutting of glasses in store so as to meet ISO standards and ensure the quality of the cut glasses before delivery;
  • Perform minor and major repairs on glasses; Analyze problem cases;
  • Process invoicing in accordance with company policies and procedures Work closely with the team on the floor to ensure constant customer service;
  • Depending on the traffic, it may be taken to: Make appointments for optometrists;
  • Open and prepare the patient's file for his visit;
  • Perform pre-tests; All other tasks necessary for the smooth running of operations.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • College diploma in visual orthotics;
  • Member of the Order of Dispensing Opticians of Quebec;
  • Customer service oriented;
  • Ability to identify and listen to customer needs;
  • Communicates easily with people; Able to influence and persuade (sales skills);
  • Likes to work in a team; Bilingualism (depending on store/clinic);
  • Available to work evenings and Saturdays (Rotation according to store/clinic opening hours)
