LE LUNETIER St-Eustache is looking for a dispensing optician to complete its dynamic team!

The mission of the prescription optician is to meet the oculo-visual needs of the client through ophthalmic and/or contact lenses. In close collaboration with the optometrist, the person ensures the adjustment of ametropia, the cutting in the laboratory as well as the first step in solving a visual problem with a client.

Availability: as soon as possible | Type of employment: Full or part time

Open 3 evenings/week (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday) | Closed on weekends

As a dispensing optician you will have to...

  • Assess the client's needs (frames, ophthalmic or contact lenses);
  • Explain the different products on the market according to the customer's needs;
  • Explain the different promotions in order to guide the client in his decision-making process;
  • – Accompany the advisor-stylist after his choice of frame (if necessary);
  • Take the necessary measurements for the manufacture of the complete bezel;
  • Analyze the prescription: base curvature, vertex distance, pantoscopic angle and curve;
  • Perform minor and major repairs on glasses;
  • Perform problem solving, either at the comfort level or at the customer's visual level;
  • Carry out the cutting-mounting;
  • Make customer adjustments;
  • Ensure the opening of files or renewals of contact lenses: select the ideal lens according to the client's needs, explain the manipulations during the first time, update the client's techniques if necessary, refresh the maintenance methods, take measurements, perform follow-ups, solve problems either at the comfort level or at the visual level;

To get this job, you must...

  • Have your college diploma in visual orthotics;
  • Be a member of the Order of Dispensing Opticians of Quebec;
  • Have the ability to work in a team and under pressure;
  • Be customer oriented;
  • Be punctual, motivated, resourceful and autonomous.
