SUMMARY DEFINITION OF POSITION 

Reporting to the Marketing Director, the Technical Consultant will be responsible for providing first class learning and development solutions through a range of workshops, store visits and e-learning interventions related to Nikon products and experience in collaboration with the Nikon Optical Canada marketing team. He will also act as a consultant in the various technical areas of the marketing department including operational product development, development and enrichment of the consumer experience. 

KEY FUNCTIONS 

1. Co-develops, delivers and provides training programs for internal teams and partners, including in-person training, e-learning modules and workshops; 

2. Collaborates with marketing and sales teams to support product & service launch plans, including training materials, in-store experience tools; and marketing requests. 

3. Conducts research and analysis on trends and innovations, and uses this information to recommend training and experience solutions; 

4. Works closely with the sales team, partners, training director to identify training needs and develop training programs to meet market needs and trends 

5. Develops and maintains relationships with key industry partners and stakeholders to keep abreast of the latest trends and technologies; 

6. Represents the company at industry events and conferences and participates in relevant professional development activities to stay current in the field; 

7. Participates in the development, launch and implementation of in-store consumer experience solutions; 

8. Serves as a trusted resource and consultant to ensure alignment between the training, sales and marketing teams 

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS 

  • - 3+ years of experience in the optical industry with a focus on training and development 

  • - Proficiency in Microsoft Office and e-learning platforms 

  • - Willingness to travel as needed 

  • - Bilingual (fluent in French and English, both written and spoken) 

  • - Optician,  Optometry diploma or equivalent

- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and inspire audiences of all levels. 

- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines 

- Creative and innovative mindset, with the ability to develop new and exciting training solutions and in-store experiences. 

  • Good analytical skills
